About

Our Mission

The Moijama Foundation’s mission is to ensure that the learning outcome of students is improved, through advocacy and sustainable capacity building by empowering less fortunate students and educating young adolescent girls about health and wellness, as well as empowering them to be change-makers in their communities and beyond.

Background

Launch in 2018, and incorporated in 2021, The Moijama Foundation is a non for profit and non-governmental organization operating in Liberia. According to a UNICEF 2016 report, “Nearly two-thirds of Liberian children have never stepped in school and the country has the highest portion of children missing out on primary school education“(UNICEF). This statistic accounts for Liberia being highly ranked among all sub-Saharan countries accounting for 64% of school-going kids being drop-out or have never attended school. This result is extremely appealing. Against this backdrop, the Moijama Education Foundation seeks to focus on bridging the challenges that are within the education sector.

Our approach to targeting this predicament is built upon getting young children off the street by empowering them and supporting them to grow and achieve, providing educational charity to less fortunate children, supporting national government efforts in education, and promoting quality education.

Vision & Core Values

The Moijama Foundation envisages a society where every child will have access to quality education without any form of prejudice or discrimination, as well as improving young children’s self-esteem to realize their potential through programs, projects, and community engagements that will drive them to lead a holistic change across our communities.
